News at the Market: Wow, you wouldn’t believe the veggies that are in at the market. We still have collards, squash, cucumbers, string beans, and the TOMATOES ARE HERE. We also have lots of sweet corn and field corn, pink eye purple hull peas, egg plant, peppers, onions, herbs, and potatoes. We have lots of flowers, and in the fruit department are the blueberries, PEACHES, and watermelon. I think later in the month we will have some apples and figs.
DON’T FORGET WE ARE NOW OPEN ON THURSDAY AFTERNOONS FROM 3 PM TO 6 PM, ALONG WITH TUESDAY AND SATURDAY AT 6 AM TO 12 NOON.
Out in the field: Pretty much the farmers are doing the same as last month. Picking one day, at the market the next. In between trying to get some more things planted for fall. Now is the time for planting late tomatoes, potatoes, (for new potatoes in the fall). Squash and cucumbers, egg plant, beans can all be planted now for fall and peas can be planted until the end of July.
SPECIAL EVENTS: We hope to have special events for every weekend this month. We will have announcements at the market, or check on face book to see what is going to happen on the up coming week end.
