NOVEMBER

News at the Market:
The greens are really coming in slow this year.  The collards, turnip greens, mustard, and kale are slowly making an appearance, with more sellers every day, so don’t give up on us.  We still have sweet potatoes, green onions and peppers.  Everyday, something new is showing up, like last Saturday was the first day for broccoli, and this Tuesday, we saw our first cabbage for this fall.  I want to thank everyone who came to see us on appreciation day.  It was a cold and rainy day, but we had a lot of customers brave the elements  to come and have donuts and hot chocolate with us.

Out in the field:
Although the weather has turned cool, the rain has slowed,  so our plants are getting a little sun.  The farmers are now cultivating to get rid of the weeds that dared come up when we couldn’t get in the field.  The farmers are now looking to see what they want to plant for next year.  They also are looking at new machinery to help them in this endeavor, and even if this fall has been a bummer as far as growing vegetables go, the farmers spirits are high that next year will be great.

Upcoming Events:  On NOVEMBER 21, we will have our Christmas kick-off.  We will have all kinds of  Christmas greenery for getting ready for the holidays.  We make 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 inch wreaths, in cedar, pine, holly, boxwood, and small herb wreaths.  We make cedar garlands, starting at 5 yards or any length that you would want.  We will have all kinds of Christmas decorations, so be sure and make us your first stop for your Christmas decorations.

Thanks,

Alice Parker
